Kenya and Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park

Start off in the morning with a scenic drive through central Kenya. The 3-hour drive offers the chance to see some of the beautiful landscapes of central Kenya, including rolling hills and lush forests. A trip from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park is a great way to experience the beauty and diversity of Kenya’s natural world. Lake Nakuru National Park is an alkaline lake located in the central rift valley and is known for its large population of flamingos and other waterbirds.

Once you arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, you will have the opportunity to explore the park and see the wildlife. The park is known for its large population of flamingos, as well as a variety of other animals, such as giraffes, zebras, and baboons. 

After a full day of exploring the park, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2Nakuru - Maasai Mara Reserve

Another scenic drive awaits as you make your way from Lake Nakuru to the Maasai Mara Reserve. Once you arrive at the Maasai Mara National Reserve, you will have the opportunity to explore the park and see the wildlife. The Maasai Mara is known for its large populations of lions, elephants, and other animals, and is one of the most popular safari destinations in Africa. 

After an afternoon of exploring the park, you will return to your lodge or camp for the night. You will have the chance to relax and unwind, and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the lodge staff.

 

Day 3Maasai Mara Reserve

Your full-day game drive will typically begin early in the morning, with breakfast, and then proceed to the park for a day of fun. You will then set out on a safari vehicle, accompanied by your experienced guide who will help you spot the wildlife and provide information about the animals and the park.

As you explore the Maasai Mara, you will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals, including lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more. The park is also home to a number of bird species, and you may have the chance to see some of the park’s more elusive animals, such as leopards and cheetahs.

In addition to the incredible wildlife, the Maasai Mara is also known for its stunning landscapes. The park is located in the Great Rift Valley and is surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests. You will have the opportunity to take in the stunning views and appreciate the natural beauty of the rolling savannah.

After a full day of game driving, you will return to your lodge or camp, where you can relax and reflect on your incredible safari adventure in the Maasai Mara.

Day 4Masai Mara - Serengeti National Park

Today marks the end of your stay at Maasai Mara Reserve. Check out of your safari camp after breakfast and embark on a short game drive as you make your way to the park exit, proceeding to the Serengeti National Park.

Once you arrive at the Serengeti National Park, you will have the opportunity to explore the park and see the wildlife. The Serengeti is known for its large populations of elephants, cheetahs, and wildebeest, and is one of the most popular safari destinations in Africa. After an afternoon of fun and discovery exploring the park, you will return to your lodge or camp for the night. You will have the chance to relax and unwind, and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the lodge staff.

Day 5Serengeti National Park

Today you will set off again for extended game drives in the vast Serengeti. The Serengeti park is that it is home to the Great Migration, during which millions of wildebeest and other animals migrate across the park. This is an incredible natural phenomenon that is truly awe-inspiring to witness. 

Spend the day exploring various areas in the park, and return to your safari accommodation at dusk for a well-deserved hot shower and sumptuous dinner.

Day 6Serengeti Park - Ngorongoro Crater

Check out from your safari camp and further game drives as you make your way to the south, and continue on to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and flamingos. The highlight of the Ngorongoro is the Ngorongoro Crater, a stunning natural amphitheater that is home to a large population of animals.

Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater - Tarangire National Park

Early breakfast, and set off into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning of fun. The Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the Ngorongoro Caldera, is a stunning natural amphitheater that is the result of an ancient volcano and is home to a large population of animals, including lions, elephants, and flamingos. 

After exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, you will continue on to Tarangire National Park. Spend the afternoon exploring Tarangire, and proceed to your lodge or camp for the night. You will have the chance to relax and unwind, and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the lodge staff.  

Day 8Tarangire National Park - Amboseli National Park

Wake up to the sounds of the Tarangire wildlife. The Tarangire park is known for its large population of elephants, as well as a variety of other animals, such as zebras, giraffes, and baboons. You will have the opportunity to explore the park on a game drive and then proceed to the Amboseli National Park. 

Check-in at the Amboseli safari camp or lodge late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 Amboseli National Park

Set out for game drives after breakfast. As you explore the Amboseli, you will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more. The park is also home to a number of bird species, and you may have the chance to see some of the park’s more elusive animals, such as leopards and hyenas.

One of the highlights of the Amboseli  National Park is the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. The mountain can be seen clearly from the park and provides a beautiful backdrop to the wildlife and landscapes.

Return to your safari lodge in the afternoon for a well-deserved hot shower and a sumptuous dinner.

Day 10Amboseli National Park - Nairobi

Today marks the end of an incredible safari adventure and the last day in Amboseli National Park. You will have a brief game drive before starting the journey back to Nairobi. This is approximately 240 kilometers, and the drive typically takes around 4-5 hours by car, depending on traffic and other factors. The drive is scenic and offers the chance to see some of the beautiful landscapes of Kenya, including rolling hills and vast open plains.

Once you arrive in Nairobi, you will have the opportunity to explore the city and see some of its main attractions. Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with a rich history and culture. Some of the things you can do in Nairobi include visiting the Nairobi National Museum, which has exhibits on the history and culture of Kenya, or taking a walk in the Nairobi National Park, which is located within the city limits and is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

After exploring Nairobi, you will have the chance to relax and unwind, and enjoy some of the city’s many restaurants and bars. You can also visit some of the city’s markets, where you can buy souvenirs and other items to take back home with you. Overall, a trip from Amboseli to Nairobi is a great way to end your safari adventure in Kenya and Tanzania.
